The Church of Saints Gervasius and Protasius, located in the village of Mariano, in the municipality of Valmozzola, is an important example of religious architecture in the Parma Apennines.
Originally built during the Middle Ages and documented as early as 1352, the church was reconstructed in Neoclassical style during the 18th century and subsequently enlarged between 1900 and 1927.
Its elegant façade features a central rose window, classical columns and statues of the two patron saints. Inside, visitors can admire three naves, side chapels, a marble altar and decorative frescoes by the Parma painter Umberto Concerti.
Surrounded by the peaceful mountain landscape, the church represents an interesting destination for visitors exploring the historical and cultural heritage of Valmozzola.
