Petroleum Museum Park in Fornovo di Taro

Located in Vallezza, near Fornovo di Taro, the Petroleum Museum Park (Mu.Pe.) is a fascinating example of industrial heritage in the Parma Apennines.

The museum project preserves the history of one of Italy's early oil extraction sites, where industrial exploration began in the 19th century and expanded with the establishment of the Italian Petroleum Company in 1905.

Visitors can discover the remains of old drilling equipment, pumping stations and industrial buildings surrounded by the natural landscape of Vallezza.

The park tells the story of the workers, technologies and pioneering activities that contributed to the development of Italy's petroleum industry.

It is an unusual destination for visitors interested in industrial archaeology, local history and the cultural heritage of the Parma Apennines.
